PRIVILEGES

  • THE COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE (CPL) WILL ALLOW THE PILOT TO FLY AIRCRAFT FOR HIRE OR OTHER REWARDS WITH A COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE DAY OR NIGHT
  • VFR OTT

PREREQUISITES

  • AGE 18
  • VALID CLASS 1 MEDICAL CERTIFICATE - OBTAINED FROM AN AVIATION MEDICAL EXAMINER

  • 80 HOURS OF ADVANCED GROUND SCHOOL INSTRUCTION INCLUDING:
  • CANADIAN AVIATION REGULATIONS (CARS)
  • METEOROLOGY
  • THEORY OF FLIGHT
  • AIRFRAMES
  • ENGINES & SYSTEMS
  • LIGHT INSTRUMENTS
  • RADIO & ELECTRONIC THEORY
  • LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
  • HUMAN FACTORS INCLUDING PILOT DECISION-MAKING
  • GROUND SCHOOL AVAILABLE IN CLASS, ONLINE OR TAILORED TO SUPERVISED HOME STUDY
  • WRITE COMMERICAL PILOT LICENSE EXAMINATION WITH A PASS OF AT LEAST 60%    - Study and Reference Guide
  •  HE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT IS 200 HOURS TOTAL FLIGHT TIME AND 100 HOURS PILOT-IN-COMMAND TIME INCLUDING 20 HOURS X-COUNTRY
  • ANY PREVIOUS FLIGHT TIME COUNTS TOWARDS THE COMMERCIAL PILOT COURSE. THE COMMERCIAL COURSE CONSISTS OF 35 HOURS IN FLIGHT TRAINING AND 30 HOURS OF SOLO TRAINING IN ADDITION TO THE PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE. MOST STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE THE COURSE WITHIN THE 200 HOURS EXPERIENCE
  • THE MINIMUM EXPERIENCE TO EXECUTE THE FLIGHT TEST IS 150 HOURS
